Expo '70 bass/synth player Matt Hill has gone solo. His debut LP under the Umberto moniker is an analog masterpiece heavily influenced by the classic film score work of Goblin, except arguably better. From the moment you drop the needle, you'll be transported to Italy as an extra in a vintage horror flick directed by Dario Argento. This is some of the most accessible, yet totally authentic sounding music of the "giallo" genre we've ever heard. It was previously only available as a hyper limited edition CDr and cassette tape via Sonic Meditations.

Olvidados apostoles de la saga rock’n’roll del northwest, ya saben Sonics, Wailers, Wipers o The Rats. Napalm Beach editaron en Trap records, sello de Greg Sage de Wipers, sus mejores canciones. Aquí están su cassette “Rock ‘N’ Roll Hell” y su increíble aportación al recopilatorio Trap Sampler. Canciones sin equidistancia, desgarradas, melódicas y poseedoras de un sonido propio lleno de desesperación y misterio. Sage produjo estas canciones eliminando todo lo superfluo reduciendo a pura química guitarra, bajo y batería impugnando su presente, que era igual de mierdoso que el de ahora. Las mejores canciones de los Wipers que no están en ningún disco de los Wipers.




B.F.E 007 ESTRATEGIA LO CAPTO "Gran bola de nieve" LP . Reedición póstuma de uno de los mejores discos editados aquí, originalmente solo en CD por B-Core. El trío valenciano tritura disonante punk DIY 70's, surf, y reconduce por la senda del rock'n'roll a Massacre, Skeleton Crew o los primeros Pell Mell. Guitarras a lo Fred Frith con espasmos etílicos, punk caribeño falsificado por delincuentes y troglo punk asirio.

We just woke up. It's like 7am and we're pretty sleepy - but tomorrow's "list day" and there's still records to be reviewed... Let's see what effect this Michael Yonkers + GR lp will have on us.... woah! Better'n coffee... these two plug their electric guitars directly into your frontal lobes! With incessant, reverbed, choo-choo train rhythms on rattling percussion to make you get up and go. Alien distortodelic rock n' roll. Yowza.
........Or, maybe, we're still asleep... 'cause we've GOTTA be dreaming. Is it really true that outsider underground guitar wranglers Michael Yonkers and Gregory Raimo team up on this lp? Yes indeed they do! ..Milwaukee..'s ....Yonkers.... is a big AQ fave best beloved for his 1969 proto-punk Microminiature Love album, and continues to kick out the jams 40 years later. Youthful French motorpsychoguitarist Gregory Raimo we also really dig, both in his badass band Gunslingers and for his krauty solo album GR & Full-Blown Expansion. That these two would collaborate actually makes perfect sense. A couple months of trans-Atlantic 4-track tape trading by these two resulted in the 9 songs on this record, that alternate between ....Yonkers.... and Raimo compositions, not that you can tell. Each added their own elements to each other's songs, frying 'em even further, as you can imagine when, besides mere guitars, the two are credited with such things as "drumming feedback" and "wall of noise".
........We already alluded to the rattling perc, and pedal-mashed muzz of distortion that's ever-present. Perhaps redundantly, GR wrote a song entitled "Distortion, Blow My Mind!". Based on his Gallic ranting amidst gurgling geetar skree, we're of the opinion it already did! Meanwhile, ....Yonkers.... sounds as wearily Iggyish as ever on the gunked up garage of "Why Didn't", and kinda old-timey too, on the gospel-blues-punk (?) of "The News". And like that awesome GR&FBX disc, this lp mixes Bo Diddleyisms with hypnotic psych drone.
........Whoa. Haven't even had breakfast yet, and we feel like we've already definitely gotten our daily dose and more of slashing distorted guitars and trance inducing rhythmic in the red blowouts. It's gonna be a good day.

PERMANENT RECORDS
A match made in outpsyder heaven! How this unholy marriage of heads from continents separated by one of the largest oceans on the planet came to be is boggling to the mind, but as they say, birds of a feather...jam together. We imagine Plastic Crimewave played at least a minor role in the hookup. Anyhow, in case you're not familiar with the names behind "The High Speed Recording Complex", we'll reiterate. Michael Yonkers is one of the great underground psychedelic pioneers. His 1968 LP "Microminiature Love" is an absolute classic proto-psych punk ripper. (According to an anonymous source, it's going to see it's way back onto wax soon.) Throughout the 70s he recorded some great psych folk records, but he's returned to the electric realm in recent decades and he's been at it ever since. His solo live performances are some of the noisiest you'll come across this side of Prurient and he's in his fuckin' sixties!
Anyhow, he's an unsung mutant guitar hero to say the least. GR is better known as Gregory Raimo, the guitar slinger and front man of the French psych-punk group, Gunslingers. They're one of the best psych-punk bands of our day and his solo records are experimental psych slabs worth their weight in gold. Anyhow, "The High Speed Recording Complex" isn't a split, it's a collaborative effort and it finds both artists at their most extreme. It's a super percussive, blown-out, blues-y, avant psych affair for the guitar-damaged ages. We're diggin' it and we think you will too. Burka For Everybody outta Spain put this out and we're forever grateful.

- MICHAEL YONKERS / GR "The High Speed recording complex" LP. It´s in the press plant right now. It was supposed to be the fourth release of Burka For Everybody before the Snufflix "Motivation" 7". But we decided to release this before because we had all the stuff done , master, artwork... and the Snufflix 7" cover is still in the works.

B.F.E 01 - The GEPOPEL 7" is sold out. Anyway if you want a copy I could ask some distros if they still have any copy. It has been very interesting to see that most of the copies have fly to Japan and Germany.
